City Grown Gardens operates from the understanding that communities are strongest when growth comes from within, not from an outside force attempting to redefine local identity. Community culture, history, and self-determination matter. For this reason, CGG prioritizes a community-embedded approach by inviting community ambassadors, where desired, to voluntarily promote neighborhood-led activities such as seed and produce swaps, skill-sharing workshops, and garden gatherings supported by CGG. This model allows resources and support to flow in without displacing local leadership, ensuring that gardening culture develops organically, reflects community values, and remains under the stewardship of the people who live there.
